Short version: Inkvox transcribes your voice entirely on your own computer. Your audio and your transcripts never leave your machine and are never sent to us or any third party. No account is needed to use the free app.
1. Who we are
Inkvox is a desktop dictation application published by Luc Lin, a sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) operating under the trade name FORTIX (French micro-entrepreneur scheme), registered in France [TO COMPLETE: SIRET, registered address]. 2. How the app works (on-device)
When you dictate, Inkvox records audio locally, transcribes it on your device using a Whisper speech-to-text model running on your own CPU/GPU, then types the result into the app you are using. The whole pipeline runs offline.
- Your audio is processed in memory on your machine and is not uploaded anywhere.
- Optional local history (transcriptions you keep) is stored only on your computer, under your user profile. You can clear it from the app at any time, and uninstalling removes it.
- We operate no server that receives your voice or text. We have no technical means to access them.
3. What we do NOT collect
- No audio recordings.
- No transcripts or dictation content.
- No keystroke logging, no usage telemetry of what you dictate.
4. Data we do process
Free app: none on our side.
Inkvox Pro (when available): payments are handled by our Merchant of Record, Polar — we never see or store your card details. To deliver your licence we store the minimum needed: your email address and a licence key. [TO COMPLETE: confirm exact fields stored and retention period]
Website (inkvox.io): our hosting provider, Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA), may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to operate and secure the site. The site itself uses no analytics and no tracking cookies.
5. Speech-to-text models
Inkvox downloads open speech-to-text models [TO COMPLETE: from where — e.g. Hugging Face / our CDN] so they can run locally on your device. These downloads transfer the model files to you; they do not transmit your voice.

7. Your rights
For the limited data we hold (Pro email and licence), you can request access, correction or deletion by emailing contact@fortix.fr. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
8. Children
Inkvox is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly process their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
